integration of cameras to enable various video-based solutions in commercial vehicle environments is one of the most important trends in the fleet's telematics sector.
Berg Teleight's definition of telematics video includes a wide range of camera-based solutions implemented in commercial vehicle fleets, either as standalone applications or as part of conventional fleet telematics. Berg Insight discovered that the installed base of active telematics video systems in North America reached nearly 1.6 million units in 2019.
Growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.7 per cent, the active installed base is projected to reach more than 3.2 million units in North America by 2024. In Europe, the installed base of active telematics video systems was less than 0.5 million units in 2019. The active installed base is expected to grow at an annual compound rate of 16.1% to reach nearly 1.0 million telematics video systems in Europe by 2024.
